Questions
The straight answers.
How the permanent QR, activation cards, gifts and shop tags work.
01Does the QR ever change?
No. The permanent exterior QR stays the same. You can rename the build, change what's on the page or hand it to a new owner and the sticker keeps working.
02Can I buy tags before I know which vehicle they are for?
Yes. A BuildTag can be bought first and connected to a vehicle later. That's how gifts and shop stock work.
03Can shops keep BuildTags in inventory?
Yes. A shop or dealership can pre-buy BuildTags, keep them on the shelf and activate one when a customer vehicle is ready.
04Does a shop own the customer's vehicle profile?
No. The shop sets the profile up and records its work. Once the customer claims it, the profile belongs to the customer.
05What happens when the customer claims it?
The customer becomes the owner. The shop stays credited for the build and the installs it recorded.
06Can a BuildTag be transferred?
Yes. The owner can hand the build to a new owner from the build's settings. The new owner accepts with a private one-time link.
07What if the sticker is damaged?
A replacement can be printed with the same QR, so nothing about the build page changes.
08What if the activation card is lost?
The claim code can be cancelled and a new one made by whoever bought the tag or by the shop. The old card stops working right away.
09Can someone steal my BuildTag ownership by scanning my exterior QR?
No. The public QR cannot claim ownership. It only opens the build page. Ownership only moves with the private activation card or a private transfer link.
10Does BuildTags support cars, motorcycles, and trucks?
Yes. A BuildTag works on cars, motorcycles and trucks.
